9 characters of Dulquer Salmaan you never forget.

It's been 9 years since a Mollywood actor who has created his fanbase all over India through his memorable characters and charm . Let's take a look at some of his versatile characters.

This year Dulquer Salmaan completed nine years since his first appearance. What made it stand out even more was that the actor picked out for a below-the-radar debut when he started his career with "Second Show" in 2011 and now he has movies lined up in four languages - Salute and Kurup in Malayalam, Hey Sinamika in Tamil, Hanu Raghavapudi directorial in Telugu and R Balki's thriller in Hindi. His star appeal and ever-expanding fanbase have a lot to do with the characters he plays, something that he has often said he carefully picks so that years later when he looks back, he has a filmography studded with varied roles.

Having completed close to 30 movies, we pick nine roles of Dulquer that take the audience through nine different emotions.

1. 'Adhi' from O Kadhal Kanmani

Being a romantic hero in a Mani Ratnam film is still a dream project for any actor in the Indian film industry, and the character Mani Ratnam gives for an actor stays in the heart of audience forever. As Adhi, Dulquer brought a seductive, youthful vibe that people continue to associate with his romantic characters.

OK Kanmani is available on ZEE5, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix

2. 'Johns Isaac' from ABCD: American Born Confused Desi

As the most apathetic of youth, Dulquer brilliantly portrayed Johns, an American Malayali, who is forced to live in Kerala after his parents cut off the financial dependence. Dulquer lends a comic believability to the dillema of Johns and his buddy Korah. With the movie, he also proved that he can pull off comedy with the same ease as his previous thrillers.
ABCD is available on Disney+ Hotstar

3. 'Faizi' from Ustad Hotel

This was the character of Dulquer Salman that no one could ever forget. Director Anwar Rasheed's Ustad Hotel, which is scripted by Anjali Menon, still remains one of the best characters he played till now. Ustad hotel is not just about the soulful relationship between Faizi and his grandfather Kareem. But what every audience was truly moved by is how Faizi felt while seeing people struggle for food, and it's this compassion that changes him and makes him realise what's important.

Ustad Hotel is available on Disney+ Hotstar

4. 'Siddharth' from Kali

Siddharth, a youngster with anger management issues, is a volcano that is ever ready to erupt. While Dulquer plays an angry young man with relative ease, it's in those scenes that have him show restraint where he truly shines, adding layers of suspense in the already tense film by Samir Thahir.

Kali is available on Disney+ Hotstar

5. 'Aji' from Comrade in America

This was not an easy pick, but Aji narrowly edged out Kassi from Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi and Nikhil Khoda from The Zoya Factor. It takes resolve and tenacity to travel across continents and Aji ventures into unfamiliar territory to be with the one he loves. He finds strength in his ideals, which however are shaken up over the course of the journey. But it takes true courage to realign his beliefs and do what is right even when the endgame might not have worked in his favour.

CIA is available on Netflix

6. 'Shiva' from Solo's World of Siva

Each character of Bejoy Nambiar's Solo shows off the various faces of Dulquer the actor, but none was more hard-hitting than the story of Shiva, a gangster. For the audience, Shiva's story was about revenge, but it also reflected the pervading fear experienced by his family and the final scene mirrors the anguish that haunts Shiva.

Solo is available on JioCinema, SunNxt and Netflix

7. 'Avinash' from Karwaan

For Dulquer's Avinash Rajpurohit in Karwaan, the road trip is about getting closure and finding some peace in his unsatisfied personal and professional life. The movie, which marked DQ's debut Bollywood film, also had him in his most different avatar yet in a subdued and subtle performance that the dark comedy demanded.

Karwaan is available on Amazon Prime Video

8. 'Gemini Ganesan' from Mahanadi

Although this was not a lead character in this film, 'Gemini Ganesan' in Nag Ashwin's Mahanati, Dulquer once again experimented with a role that starts off as endearing but soon takes a rude route, driven by jealousy and malice towards the one he loved.

Mahanati is available on Amazon Prime Video and YuppTv

9. Charlie from Charlie

Charlie was a sensation for any youth that loves to travel, this character became soo inspirational that the youth changed the way they see the world. As a free-spirited traveller, Dulquer plays the titular character with a swagger and charisma you would associate to characters from a fairy tale. Charlie was a breath of fresh air and it's the actor's natural charm that makes it stand out from the rest of his roles. Little wonder then that Charlie also fetched him his first Kerala State Award for Best Actor.

Charlie is available on Amazon Prime Video, ZEE5, SunNxt and Vi Movies.

5 underrated Indian shows on OTT

Here's some tv shows which deserved more attention and appreciation..

1. SHE (NETFLIX) 20201 SEASON CRIME TV SHOWS
Created by celebrated film director Imtiaz Ali and headlined by Aditi Pohankar, 'She' is the story of a timid, female cop whose road to empowerment is an undercover assignment to expose a drug ring. The writing may be a little weak in places, but Aditi, with a charming screen presence is a delight to watch! It's her transition, from a demure cop in modest surroundings to a bold agent exploring and accepting her sexual side, that wins you over. If haven't seen already, do give it a watch!

2. MARZI (VOOT) 2020-1 SEASON THRILLER TV SHOWS
Marzi is a thriller, crime series starring Aahana Kumra and Rajeev Khandelwal, that is essentially a classic suspense tale of 'he-said-she-said'. Based on the novel 'Liar', it takes on the subject of sexual consent and is totally gripping from the word go! The 5-part series revolves around a school teacher (Kumra), accusing her date (Khandelwal) of raping her. What follows is an edgy, riveting tale of lies and deceit, leaving the viewer hooked on till the very end to know who's telling the truth. A must-watch especially for fans of the lead cast. Despite some draggy, unnecessary bits focusing on secondary characters, Kumra and Khandelwal are able to keep you glued to their portrayals and draw you to their side.

3. QUEEN (MX PLAYER) 2019-1 SEASON HISTORICAL TV SHOWS
With an IMDb rating of 8.8 and loosely based on Late actress and politician Jayalalitha, this story is the journey of Shakthi Sheshadri- a young, brilliant student forced to become an actress, and after attaining super-stardom, wishes to enter politics. Although originally a Tamil series, it was released in many languages including Hindi and even premiered on television.
A great storyline and stellar performances are enough reasons to binge watch this show. All 3 actresses (Ramya Krishnan, Anjana Jayaprakash & Anikha Surendran) playing Shakthi, at different periods of her life, do in fact bring to life the story of one of the most prominent figures across South India and fans can't wait for season 2! The show wasn't perhaps promoted well in other regions, hence not many from other parts of India ended up watching it, although its available for free on MX Player!
4. BHAUKAAL (MX PLAYER) 2020-1 SEASON CRIME TV SHOWS

Crime. Guns. Gang wars. UP- the crime capital of India. You think you have this show figured out? Think again. Bhaukaal starring TV heartthrob Mohit Raina in the lead, with Abhimanyu Singh, Siddhant Kapoor and Bidita Bag, is the story of real life hero- IPS Officer Navniet Sekera.
Set in Muzaffarnagar, the plot essentially revolves around two goon gangs at war and Officer Sekera being sent in to cleanse the city. What stands out in this series is a fairly gripping storyline and good performances overall. Although some parts may be predictable, if action and gangster stories are your thing, this show is definitely for you! All in all, a show worth your time and we can't wait for season 2 that's expected to arrive sometime next year!.
5. A SIMPLE MURDER (SONYLIV) 2020-1 SEASON ACTION CRIME TV SHOWS

Headlined by Amit Sial and Zeeshan Ayub, this
unusual, dark crime-comedy is a surprisingly
cringe-worthy show! The story revolve around a failed entrepreneur's 'simple' contract to kill a politician's daughter for money. Post this 'simple murder' gone wrong, ensues a gripping tale of greed and betrayal. Shot in all corners of Delhi and essentially a crime thriller about a bag of money, it's quite the roller coaster! Top-notch performances and a unique comic timing make this quirky thriller an absolutely entertaining watch.

Wrath of Man review - the story of the cold and mysterious ‘H’

#bingeholics

BingeHolics Rating : 3/5

Review By: Ashik MM

Wrath of Man is a revenge-based action thriller by acclaimed and innovative director Guy Ritchie. This contemporary movie tells the story of the cold and mysterious ‘H’ as he goes to work at a cash truck company that moves hundreds of millions of dollars around Los Angeles every week. H’s objective is unique and unanticipated but is only revealed incrementally, utilizing a suspenseful and carefully constructed nonlinear narrative to lay bare his true intentions. Shifting across timelines and various character’s perspectives, Wrath of Man builds to a thrilling, tragic, and inevitably bloody catharsis.

Simply saying we'd seen a lot of Hollywood and other foreign movies portraying the same cliche revenge story over a thousand times in screen. But what makes 'Wrath of Man' different from others is the narrative path chosen by Guy Ritchie to convey the story to audience.

Jason Statham's performance could be said as the soul of the movie,he simply nailed it. Other actors Scott Eastwood, Josh Harnett and Holt McCallany has done a descent job.

Action sequences in company of Cinematography and bgm also lived up to the  mark. Jason Statham's bold portrayal of the character and Guy Ritchie's perspective of seeing things made this flick a good one.
We'd recommend this Guy Ritchie flick as a treat for action - thriller lovers.
